A rare and very special vintage program companion to the La Cinémathèque canadienne's "Une Exposition George Méliès" in Montreal. Put on in collaboration with the French Embassy in Canada and the Canadian Film Institute in 1965. Cover includes a wonderful black & white photo of the master filmmaker himself, plus a full page illustration from Méliès' 1904 film 'The Impossible Voyage / Le Voyage à Travers L'impossible' can be found on page 9.

"Georges Méliès was a French illusionist and film director famous for leading many technical and narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. Méliès was an especially prolific innovator in the use of special effects, popularizing such techniques as substitution splices, multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, dissolves, and hand-painted color. His films include ‘A Trip to the Moon’ (1902) and ‘An Impossible Voyage’ (1904), both involving strange, surreal journeys, and are considered among the most important early science fiction films."
